Mermaid Series

I was having a look through some of my old sketch books and came across these mermaid drawings. I really like the idea behind these drawings so decided to revisit/redo them. I wanted to create a series of 3 illustrations that were more detailed and finished than the originals.

The concept behind the drawings was to imagine how a mermaid could transform into a human. (Yes another transformation!) I was inspired by werewolf transformations and wanted to convey something a bit gruesome.

Front cover for SELMEC's 40 year anniversary

I was commissioned by SELMEC to create a front cover for their bookazine to celebrate their 40 year anniversary. In case you were wondering SELMEC stands for South East London Meccano Club, and their website can be found here https://www.selmec.org.uk

The title of the bookazine 'SELMEC's Greatest Hits' gave me the idea of creating record covers/album art using photographs of Meccano models.

I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I think it's a nice way of incorporating lots of different images to represent the 40 years.

One of my favourite parts is Godzilla, this was referenced from a photo of one of the members dressed up in a Godzilla costume testing the strength of Meccano bridges.

Teapot Transformation

This is an old uni project. The brief was to create 5 images, starting with a self portrait and ending with an object. I'm a bit of a tea fan, so I choose a teapot. This remains one of my favourite projects, so I thought I'd use it as inspiration for my banner.
